Student governors toolkit

This one-day course is directed at student leaders who are elected to hold office as a student governor on a FE college corporation.

Aim
This course aims to ensure the student leaders will complete their year of office as a student governor in an effective manner by successfully participating in the work of the college corporation.

Course objectives
By the end of the course officers will be able to

1. Identify the collective role of college corporation members
2. Identify the individual role of the student governor
3. Understand how the college corporation operates
4. Practise how to get the most out of college corporation meetings
5. Understand the key issues affecting the further education sector
