Student leadership 2008 –9

This course is directed at any student’s union officers in FE colleges.

Aim
This course aims to equip student leaders with the knowledge and skills to be an effective students' union officer. The course will include basic executive training, student rights in further education, constructing a campaign, democracy in your union and exploring your specific role.

Course objectives
By the end of the course officers will be able to

1. Have an understanding of how the law applies to them as a student leader
2. Have an understanding of what a students' union can do and how it can do it
3. Have an action plan for their year ahead
4. Construct a code of conduct for their students' union
5. Consider the challenges and opportunities in the upcoming year.
