The NUS Disabled Students’ campaign conference is the largest gathering of disabled students and their representatives in the UK.
The annual conference enables disabled students to network and socialise together in a safe, secure environment. It also sets the policy, priorities and direction of the NUS Disabled Students’ campaign in a democratic environment. The conference holds the NUS disability representatives to account and elects new officers and committees to direct the work of the campaign over the year.
The event is free of charge for one disabled student representative from each Students’ Union in the UK. It is held at an accessible venue in Blackpool and this year will be from 2 - 4 February 2009.

Registration Form
Link to the online registration site - you will be required to enter your security pass code.
Close of registration: 1pm, Friday 16th January 2009
Any registrations which are received after this date will incur a late registration fee of £50 per person for HE colleges and £10 per person for FE colleges.
Access requirements
Any access needs which you may have, such as crèche facilities, dietary requirements disabled facilities etc, may not be guaranteed. Please read guidelines for completing the online registration form (in CD1).
Motions/amendments pro-forma
Submitting motions and amendments facilitate excellent debate at Conference, and ultimately improve the quality of the mandate given to the Disabled Students’ Officer and the Disabled Students’ Committee working on your behalf during the 2009/2010 academic year. It is important that you take ownership of the policy making process and take part in the campaign.

Attending Disabled Students Conference
The Disabled Students Conference is a free Conference for one self-defining disabled student delegate from your college/university. It is important to register early for Conference to ensure any access needs or requirements your delegate may have are catered for. Should your delegate require an enabler, they will also attend conference free of charge. Any observers that you wish to send in addition to your delegate will need to pay £220.00 to attend. Please note that observers will not have voting rights.
Enablers are at Conference to facilitate delegates and not take part in Conference. For more information about the role of the enabler, please read the Enabler’s Protocol online at www.nusonline.co.uk under Disabled Students Conference.
