Audience: This course is aimed at Education and Welfare Officers with responsibility for defending, extending and promoting the rights of students.
Aim: To develop Education and Welfare Officers that represent their students through campaigning and taking action – moving away from the advice centre/counselling approach of years gone by.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course officers will be able to:
- Identify the collective issues that are affecting the students
- Mobilise students into educational activists through injustice injection
- Recognise the different tools at their disposal when creating change for their students
- Have developed an action plan for a local campaign
