NUS Women's Campaign Conference

well behaved women seldom make history

NUS National Women’s Conference is one of the most important events of the year. More than half of the national student body are women and yet our voices are often not heard as loudly as they should be. More than this, we are sidelined in many other areas of modern life including politics, boardrooms, and a significant number of professions. We are paid less and expected to do more, and two of us a week will die as a result of domestic violence. These are just some of the reasons why we hold a 'women only' Conference.

Each of your students’ unions are entitled to send one voting delegate to the Conference – completely free - and you are also able to send observers, at a cost.

Women’s Conference this year will be a motivating and inspiring event with international speakers, innovative workshops, passionate debates and important elections.

I hope that you will all take full advantage of the opportunities that Women’s Conference offers – and I look forward to seeing your elected delegates in March.

In sisterhood,

Kat Stark
National Women’s Officer 2006-2008
