Rep coordinators play a key part in the development of student representation, as the importance of feedback in this area is increasingly recognised, rep coordinators and similar positions have been growing in number within unions and institutions.
Many institutions and their student representative bodies have experienced difficulties with ensuring that students take up the full range of their representation opportunities. This has stimulated the development of a number of initiatives designed to enhance student participation, including the appointment of student liaison officers and representation coordinators.
